In Contrast

By Katie Sarna

There’s the stark and there’s the plain
A windy day, a hint of rain
There´s the jazzy and upbeat
A melody heard there on the street
People laugh and people listen
Then they cry and their eyes glisten
In contrast, then
The song is very loud
Very quiet
It goes round and round.
Eyes shift in the crowd.
Their hearts go through leaps and bounds.
But all good things must come to an end
And that right there is when
The crowds disperse.
