Black Cat

By Sophia Summa

Black cat, as sly as the moonlight

Wondering where, oh where, shall I go tonight

A dark spooky cave is where I will stay

Above me are lights, staring down at the underway

or are they eyes, well I guess we’ll be in dismay

For a wave of bats swoop down, squeak, squeak, squeak

And as they fly out of the cave, for it is time to seek,

At the end of the pack lies the smallest bat

Now searching for food, there’s a small sound in the brood

Here is an owl, with a face in a scowl

As it rotates its head 360 degrees

I think it’s chilly, wow look at the breeze

As we follow the wind we are right back where we started
